Although in recent years more and more creative cars out of China, we should not forget that the most favorite pastime of the Chinese is the pick of other people’s intellectual property. Here are a few examples, lest we forget.
Sometimes there seems to be a while to progress in, but there appears suddenly again an unabashed copy of a introducing our ultimate suction cup, but without the finish, crashveiligheid, or refined motorization. A good example of this, we saw last month in Guangzhou, where an Evoque clone, Land Wind made its appearance.
Our reader Mopar sneered some strange board and lodging arrangement on a Chinese stock exchange, which gave inspiration to a list:
JAC Sunray (Mercedes Sprinter – VW Crafter)
Dojo Pioneer (Aston Martin Cygnet)
JAC Heavy Duty (Scania R580)
BAIC BJ40 (Jeep Wrangler)
Dongfeng Mengshi EQ2050 (Hummer H1)
BYD S7 (Lexus RX)
Hawtai Boliger (Porsche Cayenne – Hyundai Santa Fe)
Geely GE (Phantom)
Lifan 320 (MINI)
Geely Panda (Suzuki Alto)
Zotye T600 (VW Touareg/Audi Q5)
Tempo Trax (G-Class – Chinese from India)
Great Wall Kulla (Renault Twizy)
BYD F8 (Mercedes SL)
Shanghuang CEO (BMW X5)
Dongfeng 218i Active Tou…Oh wait, that’s not a ghastly deformed Chinese, but just an authentic BMW. Sorry.
Also the blue ovals are not safe by the way. Hi, Farid!
