De Tomaso’s most successful and by far their most famous car is the Pantera. The success, however, was a little too long exploited, the sexy sports car with a fat American V8 was from 1971 until 1993. By that time the car hopelessly out of date, and by all kinds of spoilerzooi still only a shadow of what he once was.

In 1994 there was the Guara, De Tomaso a new impulse had to give. This time there was no big American V8, a 279-hp-strong vierliter achtcilinder from the shelves of BMW. That was against the sore leg of customers, so in 1998, still a Ford V8 in the back was spooned. The offered copy is from 1996 and thus has a Bavarian source of power under the hood.

One of the rarest versions of this Barchetta, of the approximately fifty Guara’s that have been built (of which at least one is in Belgium driving around), and there were only twelve without a windscreen and roof from the factory reels. The car was made with 1050 kg considerably lighter than the Coupe, with BMW V8 1200 kg weighed. Spooned a Ford V8 into the engine compartment, then weighed you are Guara suddenly 1400 kg… The last Guara was apparently only in 2011 delivered. An Austrian had the car already in 2004 ordered, but had to go through a bankruptcy less than six years on his car waiting. On the other hand, he got him.
