The developers decided to split the game in separate episodes and sell them on a monthly basis.
Not to say that anyone is too surprised at this decision of the management of Square Enix, because now it has become fashionable to hack the whole game into several parts, then to release the first on sale, and in parallel to finish the rest. But devoted fans of the Hitman series felt betrayed, and in many forums on the Internet launched an active discussion of unexpected news.
“The decision was made due to the fact that we need more time to Polish certain game locations — said the head of the Studio IO Interactive Hanns Seifert. — Episodic approach will allow us to create a living game world that will evolve and expand”.
Initially, the new Hitman was supposed to go on sale in December 2015, but then the release date slipped to March 2016. Now 11 March is planned the release of the first episode, which will include plot introduction and the first location is the city of Paris. In April will come the second episode, containing the location of Italy, and in may the third, in which agent 47 will be in Morocco. Until the end of 2016 players will also receive access to Thailand, the USA and Japan. Also on a weekly basis among the owners of the game will get various game activities.
As for the cost, the first episode will cost you $ 15, and all subsequent episodes are valued at $ 10 each. Alternatively, you can purchase the whole game at once for $ 60 and then just downloading from the Network new episodes as they are released. At the end of 2016, when all the episodes will be released, the game should appear on sale in soft copy.
