An old saying goes: in love, war, and automarketing everything is permitted. The PR-machines of the premiumfabrikanten here eagerly responded to, and fires regular shots at each other. It is now the turn of the Lexus GS.
A good product will sell itself, but apparently the advertising men in the hoods here are not confident in. Some examples: Audi disst competition (2010). Lexus riposteert with ” you are too expensive!’. Audi pulls out to the competition (2011), and another (Audi, stahp!).
Yes, the measure is full, we understand that also. In a new GS-advertising, Lexus: “HAHAHAHA, Mercedes your equipment is old, BMW has soft small viercilindertjes, and Audi, bunch of front wheel drive-paupers, moehahaha!!”, so about. For the record: here they are only hybrid, in the US you can buy your Lexus with just a V6 under the hood.
Nice and easy, bit of cherry picking, pick one element that you do not like from the big picture and create a listing. A bit of a driftbaas would, for instance, the CVT gearbox of the Lexus. Anyway, the video is nice and in your face, Lexus calls itself a wake-up call. If you are on the verge of a 5 Series to purchase you would be after seeing the advertising 2 times think. TToch?
