At the last CES there were a lot of loud announcements, but fortunately, a few surprises for us in store and at the North American International auto show in Detroit. Take, for example, a hydrogen concept car Audi h-tron quattro, with a range of an independent course of 600 kilometers is more than the Tesla!

The car has three fuel tank hidden under a passenger cabin and a Luggage compartment that can be refilled in just four minutes. The output of the fuel cell generate 110 kW of power, and in addition the car has a lithium-ion battery with an extra 100 kW for short accelerations. While riding this additional source of energy recharges every time you hit the brake.

Still, the presented concept is more than just a champion on the speed of refilling of the cells. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than seven seconds and its maximum speed is 200 kilometers per hour — it’s definitely not a sports car, but on a public road such characteristics is more than enough. Fuel cell and battery high voltage is fed to two electric motors located on the front and rear axles and outstanding 90 kW and 140 kW of power respectively. The car also has heat pump for air conditioner and sun roof, generating up to 230 watts of energy, or an extra 1000 kilometers in a year.

Since it is only a concept, it is not necessary to hope that someday, the car will go into mass production. And yet it is proof that car manufacturers still have an idea to create a hydrogen car — and we hope that someday it will happen. After all, not some electric vehicles we ride in the future!
