Death sentences in Kuwait for espionage to Iran

KUWAIT –

Two men in Kuwait convicted of illegal possession of firearms and espionage for Iran Tuesday of the death penalty. One of the men is an Iranian who is in fact obliged to pay.

The death sentences against the background of rising tensions between the sunni families-ruled Gulf states and shia Iran. Kuwait has a large shiite minority, which is estimated at 40 percent of the Koeweiti’s forms.
