BMW unveils the homeless M4: in 20 seconds from coupe to cabriolet.

It was a matter of time and now the M4 convertible officially by BMW unveiled. All M4-elements can be found in the roofless variant. Also the motor turns there back little. The M4 delivers the same 431 hp and draws everything with 550 Nm (and the zeventrapsautomaat) in 4.4 seconds to 100 km/h. That’s three-tenths slower than the M4 coupe.

The reinforcements to the body to make the cabrio, of course, heavier. Clean on the hook is the weight of the M4 convertible 1750 kg. That is 60 kg lighter than its predecessor, but more than 250 kg heavier than the coupé. When one opts for the manual zesbak does the M4 cabrio 4.6 seconds two tenths longer to sprint to the 100 km/h.

The opening of the roof takes 20 seconds. This can be at a standstill or in a corridor of up to 18 km/hour. Open drive is, however, a lot more comfortable in the M4, thanks to nekwarmers in the chairs.

From this autumn, the new M4 convertible at the BMW dealers. The official unveiling takes between 18 and 27 april in New York, during the New York International auto show.
