Ford Fusion 2016 = Ford Mondeo 2017
Is Ford ready with downsizing? They go to a 2.7 liter V6 with 325 hp in the new Ford Fusion throw.

See, this is what the facelift for the Mondeo looks like. Admittedly: this is the Ford Fusion. But the Fusion is a car that is equal to the Mondeo in Europe. In America they are, however, a little ahead of us, so we can now already see how the tight muzzle and gelifte the butt of the European Ford Mondeo looks like.

Ford is not blind to the success of our Junkyard Race Mondeo, and has decided to put the V6 back under the hood. The men of Ford cram a 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost in the cabin, good for 325 hp and a torque of 475 Nm. That is surprising, because the 2.3 four-cylinder EcoBoost from the Focus RS may have more horsepower to deliver. Nevertheless, Ford decided to go for a V6 to go, we like!

And if you think: “There’s an ST or RS badge on,” then you’re wrong. That badge is not in fact appropriate for this Fusion. Incidentally, introduces Ford with this facelift also two new hybrid powertrains: the Hybrid and the Energi. The Hybrid is an evolution of the current variant. The Energi gets an electric range of approximately 30 km and can in 2.5 hours to fully charge. Both hybrids can electric power a speed of 85 MPH (about 137 kilometers per hour).

In the Netherlands we will, however, have a bit of patience. We should be here at least until 2017 with the current Mondeo further. If the facelift comes, it is also still the question if we have the same powertrains as in the United States, according to Ford the Netherlands in a response this morning.
