Yep a 516i badge, that of course wants no one on his thick fünfer.

BMW unveiled the 1.6 5-series recently without much fanfare. The downsizing 5-series is destined for the Greek market and that will temporarily remain as it is. The Greeks finally economical to do? Also, the X3 would be the same 1.6 engine in Greece.

BMW understands that a 516i badge is not really tough on your 5 series and loves it, therefore 520i. The 1.6 engine with 170 hp and 250 Nm of pulling power we know all of the 118i and 318i. According to BMW, it prowls the fünfer this in 8.7 seconds to 100 km/h and a top speed of 226 km/h is the block out of breath.

With the advent of the 1.6 5-series, you would think that BMW’s current 2-litre 520i with 184 hp aside, but also this variant remains. Still unclear if you the advantage in addition to stacking. The 1.6-there are very sure there is 6,7 liters of fuel per 100 km across, while the 2.0 only 6.0 litres per 100 km it consumes.

So to see the downsize-nonsense also reached Greece… (via: carscoops)

Update: the 1.6 520i has been since August last year available in Turkey. See below the testvideo from our Turkish colleagues:
