‘El Chapo fled through rioolbuis’

The drugsbaas Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán is on Friday by a rioolbuis fled when the Mexican police with him though. Agents were able to eventually arrest, when Guzmán in a car tried to step out, according to the Mexican government Friday local time.

The arrest was a shootout with marines advance. In the shooting in the town of Los Mochis, in the province of Sinaloa in northwestern Mexico, were five gang members killed, six others were held.

Guzmán escaped in July for the second time from prison and continued in spite of a massive manhunt for several months out of the hands of the police. A helicopter of the navy took him Friday to the same prison where he was six months ago escaped. El Chapo fled then via a 1.5 km long tunnel from the maximum security Altiplano prison, in Almoloya de Juárez, near the capital Mexico City.

According to attorney-general Arely Gómez came to the police Guzmán on the track because he has a movie about his life wanted to make. He had already been in contact with actors and producers. Partly as a result, police were able to El Chapo to locate and eventually arrest.

El Chapo is the founder and leader of the Sinaloa-drug cartel, which since about 1990 is considered to be the most powerful cartel in Mexico. He will be extradited to the United States, where several arrest warrants against him.
