IS fighters active in Libyan oliehaven

Militants of Islamic State on Monday in the Libyan port of Es Sider clashed hit with federal troops that these large oil storage monitor. IS tried in October, once the port to conquer.

Es Sider, the biggest olieopslagplaats of the country, and the nearby oliehaven Ras Lanuf are already more than a year closed, since all kinds of rival Libyan groups seek to become master of the installations. Islamic State now blends strongly in the battle for the strategic and precious oil. Also southern oil fields are already multiple target-actions. Until now, however, no single field or in storage was conquered.

IS has since 2011, gradually to the area conquered in Libya. The most important city of the rebel groups started in the hands of the extremists.
