Once again, news about McLaren’s 650S. After the 650S Le Mans, the British next month with a version on the gpu which not only is visually addressed, but also under the hood.
Reportedly going this hardcore but straatlegale version ‘675LT’ are called, which the 675 refers to the number of pk’s and LT stands for Long Tail. This assumption is based on the fact that the camouflagewrap on the above prototype consists of all small afbeeldinkjes of the F1 GTR Long Tail.
This Long Tail had, at the time, to compete against the Mercedes CLK GTR and Porsche 911 GT1 and got therefore a more elongated body to be particularly aerodynamically better for the day to come. The homologatieversie of this racer with a stretched ass, the McLaren F1 GT, where (unfortunately) only three pieces are made of.
Anyway, the 675LT is mainly intended to show the gaping hole between the 650S and the P1 to fill, but must also, of course, his little man can stand against the turboloze 991 GT3 RS (Porsche, hurry up with that thing) and the 458 Special. In addition, we already know that Ferrari is busy and blown successor of the atmospheric V8 of the 458, so probably anticipates McLaren on this way forward to a possible increase in hp’s and Nm’s in the concullega.
Besides the extra horsepower, the 675LT is expected to be lighter than z’s something gangbaardere brother. The newcomer is aimed primarily at circuitgebruik and is probably parts of the 650S GT3. Thus we arrive at the bad news, because if the rumors are correct the new version twice as expensive as the house-garden-and-kitchen Mac. Even more bad news: there’s probably only 250 built.
Nevertheless, the interesting messages are from Woking, and we’re not even talking about the upcoming Sports Series. We go into every case carefully or McLaren, in the meantime, his spot between the established order nice has earned, the high expectations to be true. Once the show is in Geneva (5 march) we will know more.
