James Robertson
Factory worker James Robertson of Detroit walked, in the absence of decent public TRANSPORT, every day, 33 mile round trip to his work. His story was picked up and it seems that the daily walk now a thing of the past.

The how and why behind the fact that Robertson every day with the pony to his work ran is simple. His Honda Accord that ten years ago, broke, no money for another and not for the shutdown of the corresponding insurance. Car insurance here is not absurdly expensive, but in Detroit a ghost a couple of years, and there are the premiums than is also much higher.

Yet missed the faithful worker is not a day on his work, weather or no weather. A lot of time to sleep did not over between the shifts (14-22h à $10,55 per hour, about working conditions!) and so kept cans of coca-cola and Mountain Dew wake him up. Incidentally, reed the man every day a small piece of the bus, but due to poor connections was Robertson, the other on his own feet designated.

The story was picked up by the Detroit Free Press, and that put the 19-year-old Evan Leedy to think. The student came thus upon the bright idea to raise money for Robertson, so this may well be a new car could buy. The benefactor had a small car in mind and the goal was 5,000 USD.

That ran slightly differently, with the result that the counter is now at about 250,000 (!) euro. He also has been a Chevy Cruz been offered, would only Robertson itself, it is the tax à $ 900 to tap. The lucky guy in question however seems to be a Ford enthusiast in heart and soul.

Our advice: wait on the new Ford GT, let the counter just cycle through and if the moment is there is a spoon you have a thick Roush V8 in the back of the American supercar. Just like the heurt.
