#video of the day | Disney Robot is able to go on the walls

disney-vertigo

What smart would not be robotic vehicles, they have one obvious disadvantage compared to flying drones: their trip stops as soon as it encounters a vertical wall. However, Disney Research and ETH Zurich have found a way to solve this problem.

They created a prototype VertiGo uses two tilting propeller to drive on the walls, directing the thrust in the desired direction. Disney does not report how close this prototype to appear on store shelves, but we can already see various options for its practical application. In addition to get pleasure from managing a radio-controlled machine, it can be used for rescue, reconnaissance, and other situations where there is a lack of smooth surfaces and open spaces. Perhaps one day we will be able to see the walls crawling robots-rescuers, finding people, where previously they were impossible to find.
