In 2014, the observatory is still ‘only’ 24.980 killings in the economically stagnated country of over 33 million inhabitants. Of all the approximately 145.000 murders in all of Latin America and the Caribbean, in 2015, 19 percent in Venezuela committed.

The least violent country in South America is Chile. That has about three homicides per 100,000 inhabitants and that is still more than three times as much as in our country.
