Various experiments with virtual worlds already look pretty promising. For example, the Munich company Icaros created a machine that will allow you to exercise while in fantasy worlds.
Exercise, while being a character in his own video game – sounds good. On the other hand, such projects already exist, but without using VR. Let us recall the Wii Fit for the Nintendo, where the player performs various exercises by standing on a special Board with built-in sensors of weight, looking at your avatar on the TV screen. In principle, this approach can solve the problem with people who avoid gyms, shy to play sports in the presence of strangers.
Icaros is a rather large machine, created by designers of the company HYVE Innovation Design. From the side she looks like a medieval device for torture, but in fact not so scary. The man rests his elbows and knees in special stops, takes her hands over the metal handle in the front of the machine, then starts the game itself. Today, as a VR-helmet used wireless Samsung Gear VR and Oculus Rift wired. Rests for arms and legs under the influence of the player move back and forth, making the fall almost all of the major muscle groups.
The game itself is a flight simulator in which the player flies over the Alpine peaks, sometimes descending and weaving between trees. At the moment the developers are actively working on new games, which have to engage in airborne battles, races on motorcycles and even to get inside a submarine. Four new games will be ready in 2016. The price for this pleasure is unlikely to please residents of Russia, since today the installation of Icaros is worth 7,500 euros, excluding taxes and shipping. Car sales will begin in March next year.
