That where so long on speculation, is now Porsche approved. The four-cylinder comes final.
That says Matthias Müller, CEO of Porsche, in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport. The rumor seems to be correct. Previously reported in German media that Porsche is a 2.0 and 2.5 liter four-cylinder boxer engine was developing. Or the number of cc’s also true, is not yet known, but Müller acknowledges that it is going to boxermotoren. Most likely turbogeblazen, but also let the ceo is not.
However, he called them “up to 400 hp” will deliver. The next generation Cayman and Boxster are the first Porsches that they get, all is doubtful, or which also immediately that 400 hp will deliver. This places them in 911-waters rightly, and trying a Porsche for years to avoid. The 3.4-litre six-cylinder in the current Cayman GTS delivers “only” 340 hp.
The question is the extent to which the vierpitters match the engine in the 919 Hybrid, after all, this is a V4 model.
