Somewhat later than promised, but the MTS still has released its mobile app Connect MTS to Internet telephony on devices running operating systems iOS and Android.
As promised, the operator, the app will provide “favorable” calls over the Internet, including via Wi-Fi. It also implements the standard functions of messenger chats and group chats, file transfer and location, statuses and avatars. For subscribers of Smart tariffs an additional bonus when calling from MTS Connect free minutes doubled.
Recall that the application works on the basis of the standard RCS (Rich Communication Services) developed by GSMA (GSM Association). Payment for calls and messages through MTS Connect will be charged as normal calls and messages within the tariff of a subscriber. Data transfer also will not be charged, unless it is a special file transfer by the user. When calling in international roaming and connect to free local Wi-Fi network, the cost will work out how to call home in the region. As a separate dignity is mentioned the identification with the mobile phone number.
At the moment MTS Connect is available to Moscow subscribers of MTS with smartphones based on iOS and Android, download it in the App Store and Google Play.
