New Miss Universe is from Philippines

LAS VEGAS –

The Philippine Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach should the new Miss Universe. They defeated the international beauty contest in the U.s. Las Vegas candidates from around eighty countries, among whom the Dutch Jessie Jazz Vuijk.

The presentation of the coveted crown was not completely flawless. Presenter Steve Harvey had to apologize, after he in the first instance, the Colombian Ariadna Gutiérrez until the winner had been declared. “This was a human error. I’m very sorry”, tweeted the comedian afterwards.

I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.

The Dutch delegation said in a statement on Facebook about “a dramatic end” of the election. “It was a wonderful evening, but everyone here is upset. Very very sad all of them”, stated Kim Kötter from the Miss Netherlands Election.
