The Windows 10 Mobile update delayed until 2016

Edition of ZDNet reported disappointing news for the users of “older” Lumia smartphones. Previously, Microsoft promised that the update firmware to the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile smartphones based on Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 will be coming out in December 2015. Now the newspaper has received an official comment from Microsoft representative confirming the failure of these plans and delay release of updates.

According to the representative of Microsoft, the update to Windows 10 Mobile will be coming out early in the year for some smartphones based on Windows Phone 8 and 8.1. Interestingly, while Microsoft has not published the exact list of models that will receive the update to Windows 10 Mobile.

According to earlier unofficial information, Microsoft was planning two waves of updates. The first will start December 14th and will cover models such as the Lumia 630, 635, 640, 735 and 830. The second wave of updates was scheduled much later — the first in February 2016. It will bring Windows 10 Mobile on the Lumia smartphones 520, 532, 625, 720, 820, 920, 925, 930, 1020 and 1320.
