Operators MTS and VimpelCom (brand “Beeline”) have managed to agree on joint use of frequencies for LTE networks. The agreement covers twenty regions of Russia and will enter into force in 2016.
As planned by the operators, combining the resource in the 2600 MHz band, they will be able to achieve peak speeds of 150 Mbps for data transmission in the LTE standard.
The frequency band width of 10 MHz will be combined in the Vologda, Kaliningrad, Kaluga, Murmansk, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Orenburg, Oryol, Pskov, Sakhalin, Tula, Yaroslavl regions, the Republics of Altai, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Mordovia, Ingushetia, Chuvashia, Chechen Republic and the Khabarovsk territory.
As a result, in these regions, the total band width of 20 MHz can be used by all base stations that operators share. We will remind, a year ago, MTS and VimpelCom announced a partnership joint deployment and operation of LTE networks in 36 regions of Russia.
