Land Rover Discovery
The Land Rover Discovery is already since 1989. In 2004 came the third generation on the market, which in 2010 Discovery 4 was named after a facelift. Very much there is, however, not changed, so we will be both the third, as the fourth generation handle in this video.

Pros

  • Good handling characteristics.
  • Extremely capable offroader.

Issues

  • The timing belt and the turbos from the 3.0 TDV6 are difficult to reach. For repairs you have a lot of the bodywork has to be removed, which means that this is a lot of time (and in the workshop so: money) costs.
  • A software update of 2012 seems sometimes to be causing problems on the Discovery 4’s from 2010. To recognize the changing intensity of dashboard lights, the intensity of the back-up camera and failed parking sensors.
  • The parking brake (electro-mechanical in this case) wears out at some of Discovery’s excessively quickly.
  • Discovery 3’s to 2006-a broken frame for the sunroof, which leaks. Replacement is expensive so check this well.
  • For all of Discovery’s true: it is an offroader. If ‘ie one time it is used, for which it is meant to be, it may just be that there is damage to the soil. Look under the car!
  • The suspension is not completely free of faults and defects, and repairs are expensive.
  • Also the diesels are thirsty, so you can so’n juicy V8 on gas considering…
  • Maintenance is always important, but at the Discovery certainly: check the books. Cars without a demonstrable maintenance history are potential moneypits, especially the Discovery 3’s.
  • In addition, the maintenance of a Discovery is not cheap. It is a large, heavy car with its expensive components. A Discovery drive on a tight budget is not recommended.
