The most recent incarnation of the MINI is already about two years ago, presented to the public. It is therefore high time for a roofless version, already invites the weather at this time might not really off to a ride with open roof. The most startling piece of news (that we already knew, but still) is that the new Convertible is exclusive to VDL in Born will be built. Nice wark Wimpie!
Incidentally, will the production next month and start in march, the first copies at the dealer. The timing is not so unhappy. MINI prides itself on being the new cabrio still the only premium convertible in this segment. The substances fully automatic roof supports this claim. Up to 30 km/h is the canopy in a mere 18 count to open or close.
Just as his dense brother, the Cabriolet is bigger than its predecessor. The length increased by 98 mm, width by 44 mm, and the cabrio was 7 mm higher. Tracks grew also (before a 42 mm rear 34 mm) so that promises to be, undoubtedly, a lot of good things for the handling and not to forget the interior. In terms of luggage fit, with a capacity of 215 litres (160 with the roof open) now 25% more in the butt of the MINI Convertible.
In the introduction, the choice is limited to three engines, the 1.5 three-cylinder in the Cooper (136 ps, 4,9 l/100 km and 114 g/km) and the 2.0 four-cylinder in the Cooper S (192 hp, 5.6 l/100 km and 131 g/km). Of course, there will also be a Cooper D with 1.5 litre dieselblokje (116 hp, 3,8 l/100 km and 100 g/km). A six-speed manual transmission is standard, if desired, the 6-speed Steptronic to be checked. Additionally, there is the choice of an automatic box with the shifters, behind the steering wheel.
