Those rumors about a nice big Mazda RX-8 successor: partially true.

He is able to shine more on the Tokyo motor show, but about the rumors that there will be a 450 hp to forgive, love Mazda, his jaws stiff on each other. With the name they give, of course, but there are still a rotary engine under the hood, but specs are not there yet. A name: SKYACTIV-R. That since the retirement in 2012 no wankel engine in the lineup at Mazda, will thus potentially be right drawn.

That is the way of the rotary engine is not without bumps (read: excessive fuel and oil consumption), it appeared from the resounding quote from the press release:

The ultimate example of this particular approach is the rotary engine, which Mazda developed until it was suitable for production models. The engineers went with a huge determination to work to achieve something that impossible was considered. This enthusiasm for the challenge has never to loss of power, as evidenced by the development of the SKYACTIV technology.
