Water! Water everywhere!!
After qualifying for the GP in Austin yesterday in the water had fallen, it was decided today at 09:00 hours local time to settle. That was over an hour ago. Since last night, has however not ceased to rain, one wet Patricia full of yanks and sucks dominated the conversation of the day still, there in Texas. Fortunately, conditions were now adequate to drive.
Carlos Sainz crashes (again)
Sainz is not exactly in a good flow, the Spanish team-mate of Max wrote for the second time in a row, Toro Rosso. In Q1 he went over the kerbstones, which is equivalent to suicide if you are on full wets drive. His Toro Rosso went to the flags, there was a brief red flag, and team boss French Toast will be nice p.
Verstappen put in the meantime P7 down in Q1, in the knowledge that this may be the only session would be. That was not, but anyway layers of the Manors, the Saubers (in their 400th race weekend, acid for them) and Sainz.
In Q2 spun around everyone in turn 10, and maintained Max with P10 narrowly for Q3, however, by the end of Q2 said Vettel over the radio of ‘red flag conditions‘. He was right, because Q3 was cancelled. The starting point is therefore as follows:
1. N. Rosberg Mercedes 01:56.824
2. L. Hamilton Mercedes 01:56.929
3. D. Ricciardo Red Bull 01:57.969
4. D. Kvyat Red Bull 01:58.434
5. S. Perez Force India 01:59.210
6. N. Hulkenberg Force India 01:59.333
7. F. Massa Williams 01:59.999
8. M. Verstappen Toro Rosso 02:00.199
9. F. Alonso McLaren 02:00.265
10. V. Bottas Williams 02:00.334
11. R. Grosjean Lotus 02:00.595
12. J. Button McLaren 02:01.193
13. P. Maldonado Lotus 02:01.604
14. M. Ericsson Sauber 02:02.212
15. S. Vettel Ferrari 01:58.596
16. F. Nasr Sauber 02:03.194
17. A. Rossi Manor 02:04.176
18. K. Were Times Ferrari 01:59.703
19. W. Stevens Manor 02:04.526
20. C. Sainz Jr. Toro Rosso 02:07.304
The Ferrari’s drop 10 places back by a motorenwissel, so Max tomorrow not tonight from P10 but P8 leaves. On to a top 6 spot! We close with a fact: three times before, was there on Sunday, qualified in 2004 and 2010 in Suzuka, and in 2013 in Australia. To 20:00 hours start of the GP, if the weather cooperates.
Tonight you can the contest, incidentally, live through, Veronica (tv).
