TDI!
What vluchtelingencrisis or beefgebied? Sjoemeldiesels held in the Netherlands in the ban, but who started using that word?

Windows 8 has been around for over 3 years, but the sjoemelsoftware of Volkswagen gets it within 1.5 month for each other to the Society of Our Language (GOT) the term to prefer to the word of the year. Slightly more than half of the approximately one thousand taalneuzelaars chose yesterday during a conference of the GOT for the word, which ‘vluchtelingencrisis’ and ‘beefgebied’ at a good distance were held. This may sjoemelsoftware join the illustrious list of the rampvlucht, opposing officer and plofkip.

It is an almost childish contraction, sjoemel and software, but a catchier and clearer word seems to be there in a month and a half that Dieselgate now is not found. Doing so leaves the word also clearly see how our media-the news in small, bite-sized chunks for the consumer. There are no NOx or engine management to contend with. Stop sjoemelsoftware in a car and there will be more dirty stuff out of the exhaust.

But who used the word sjoemelsoftware as the first? The first expression that I can find in a piece in the Financial Newspaper, on Monday afternoon, september 21, three days after the first messages about Dieselgate outward. Something earlier on that day, The Volkskrant, in an article already extensively about sjoemeldiesels, which I personally also have just a little fun word find. The only question is whether it’s the written media that were first, or that the word have its origins in the television world. What sleuth still earlier use of the word sjoemeldiesel or sjoemelsoftware can find, you may sign up in the comments!
