BMW M6 E24
Still far for the V10-glorious M6, was the birth of the sportiest model in the 6 series already twenty years ago, a fact.

The M6 E24 does for many people not immediately ring a bell. Not surprising, since we have that thing absolutely not knew as M6 in Europe. BMW sold the model to us as M635CSi, but they found that in America, but a difficult name. The first M6 was born.

Although BMW M stands for ultimate hardcore pr0n, that was at the first M6 is not the case. The American top model had less power than a European M635CSi. It’s a prestigious development on the M1 block (M88/3) in the form of the S38B35 engine. This was good for 286 hp and 340 Nm of torque. The top speed was 255 km/h. The U.s. six-in-line produced 260 hp and 330 Nm by the addition of a catalyst. A small decrease in power, so, as so often in US-spec cars.

The European M635CSi were also, along with the M1, the fastest BMW in the eighties could buy. Normally, the top speed limited to 250 km/h, but for the M1, the M635CSi was an exception made. This gave the car at the time the stamp ‘The fastest BMW ever built, the M1 after.’ And thus draw potential buyers.

A beauty from every angle
The original M6 was a sinister beauty, and was full of tight lines, what we know of BMW from the eighties. The compartment is is relatively close to the asphalt, the car a special appearance. A nice detail are the two exhausts that BMW (just not completely) in the middle has processed.

The American M6 E24 are less than 2000 copies were built. The asking price of a used car is quite different. Depending on the state, the fluctuating price tags of between 25,000 and 50,000 euros. Outliers with low miles go for about 50k.
