Fog: a refresher course

Holland lies under a blanket of fog, and so can the mistpitten finally legal. Or isn’t it? Read this short refresher and you’re in.

Each car is required by law, an extra bright rear fog lamp. Fog lights on the front are optional. A bit of a Sjonnie has, of course, always and everywhere, front fog lights, because that looks cool, but if the policeman sees this he can give you nothing. Not entirely unjustified, because those bright lights are pretty disturbing when they are under bright circumstances, be fed.

When fog lamp switch?

The law is very clear about: if the visibility less than 50 meters is, you may fog behind, and not otherwise. To the front is a visibility of up to 200 meters. Incidentally, it is not formally allowed your fog light to turn on when the visibility is limited by rainfall, so only in fog or snow.

Automatic lighting

Finally: people with automatic lights should have a fog of their lighting to manually turn on. It is not guaranteed that your light sensors, the cloudy conditions to pick up.
