Noteworthy news this day: it appears at five places in the Netherlands, the hated average speed check is disabled.

At least, that reports the Telegraph, arguing that the systems are outdated and therefore just turned off. Hm, the bullshit detector starts here on the editor a bit to save, controls are something of the afhelopen years? It would go to the following pathways:

A12 to Den Haag and Utrecht
A58 from Bergen op Zoom in Zeeland
A4 in Nieuw-Vennep

Do with it what you want, but keep in mind that there still is such a thing as the mobile camera.

UPDATE: it is now clear that three quarters of all controls turned off!
