Next year, the bijtellingstarieven up a lot and therefore are lease cars a lot more expensive. That you have already dozens of times read, but what is the matter really? Expressed in terms of a fun second car, for example, or a holiday… Take you?

You want a station wagon in the C-segment, 14 percent additional tax and a petrol? You can simply not order the Toyota Auris Hybrid, because that’s the only one that meets all the requirements. This year, when you drive the spacious Auris Touring Sports (TS) even with the low tax of 14 percent, you step next year, then you rise to 21% of list price. But what do those seven extra procentjes now in euro’s? More than you think!

The calculation

We go ourselves some serious pampering with a luxurious Auris TS Lease Pro-version (there is also an even thicker Leasing Executive-implementation, for that matter). This has a list price of 30.750 euro. That means that your annual 4.305 euros in your income, you have to add. We go off of a % of 42 percent, that’s down to 1.808 euro you annually is lost to tax.

Then the same calculation, but on the basis of 21% of list price. The tax is then 6.457,50 euro, what with the previously mentioned % of 42 per cent comes out at 2.712,15 euros net of tax per year. On an annual basis saves you so for more than 900 euros.

Now you drive your lease car up to five years against the originally applicable bijtellingstarief, but let’s, in this case, assume that after four years, your mileage and your Auris Hybrid at the leasing company must make sacrifices. You have, in the case of the 14 percent additional tax liability than in total 7.232 euros net of tax paid. In a bijtellingstarief of 21 percent, this is 10.868,60 euro. That comes down to a difference of a whopping 3.636,60 euro. And with that money you can do fun things…

What to do with 3.600 euros?

What do you think, for example, of 90 visits with two adults and two children at the Louwman Museum? Or a trip to New York with his half? But when you are a car enthusiast, of course, really happy, is a nice second car for the weekend. We do have some suggestions:

…a cute Saab 96 V4 1968…

…or a Rover P5 Saloon with a 3.5 V8.

And that’s not all

Well, the point will be clear: you keep money for fun things as you can this year in an Auris Hybrid to drive. Serious money, for which you can do fun things or buy. And then we have gone past the fact that you are just fine at driving in this recently facelifted wagon with 530-1658 litres of luggage space, a whole package of safety features (Safety Sense) and yet but an emission of 79 (hatchback) or 82 (TS) grams of CO2 per kilometre. Just do so, that Auris, and this year.
