The French familycar with a 1.6 dCi diesel that exceeds the EURO6 standard for the emissions of NOx up to 25 times, claims a German milieulobbygroep.
The DUH (Deutsche Umwelt Hilfe) decided in the slipstream of #dieselgate to look at the French neighbors to go and have a look. There was a new Renault Espace 1.6 dCi from the showroom, pulled and subjected to various tests. This came 13 to 25 times the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) that is allowed according to the current EURO6 norm, according to DUH.
The tests are done according to the rules of the NEDC in five different tests with a warm engine. The uitstootlevels be by DUH compared with that of cars from the end of the ’80s. The DUH is asking for quite a while to reform the NEDC tests to tests that actually show what a car emissions in real-world conditions. Renault does not respond to the allegations. DUH has announced more cars to go testing, both of German and foreign origin.
