Don’t expect groundbreaking news from Affalterbach. The which hypercar-glove is for the time being not picked up by the evil doctors at AMG.
On the question of whether Mercedes-AMG is busy with the construction of a competitor for the ‘Aries and P1’s of this world was a positive answer. “No,” said AMG chairman Tobias Moers. For the time being have the Germans busy enough with the current orders.
Earlier this week it was announced that AMG V12 production will increase. The engines will now also be built in the German Mannheim. Because of the move, there is a place vacant for the construction of the achtpitters of AMG. Also here should there be more to be built to meet the high demand.
Of course, there is mysteriously in the background continuing to work on other models within the AMG line. For example, we know that there is a model above the AMG GT will be positioned. Probably a twaalfcilinder with electrical support. Maybe the Germans this project is now a lower priority have been initiated by the crowds at the regular AMG models.
Recently, the new SL was unveiled and chose Mercedes-AMG this year for a new model line, with the slightly softer C450 AMG, which if debuutmodel acted as well. They are also busy with the next-generation E-Class, says Moers. Another reason that the which hypercar for now, are not going to come because of the financial picture. Between the development costs and the final sales margins considering all there is a big hole. The additional brand awareness it weighs, according to Moers, is not cost-effective. Or at least, not in the current stage where AMG is now located.
