Provided: if this amount (easily) could miss. Then you may spekkoper. Last weekend was a 1937 Delahaye 135 Competition Court Torpedo Roadster at an American auction for that amount afgehamerd.
The pre-war classic, with coachwork by Figoni and Falaschi, belonged for a long time until the collection of Malcolm Pray, a businessman from Connecticut. After his death in August 2013 decided to inherit, however, to waive a large part of that. Also a BMW 507 and Ferrari 250 GT, which for more than a million dollars way went came from his collection.
A total of sold auction house RM Auctions no less than 97% of the offer at the Amelia Island auction, which, in total, almost 36 million USD in the drawer brought. Take care of a storage of 10% for the auction house itself, and you know that nice things are done.
The top 10, on the basis of yield:
1. 1937 Delahaye 135 Competition Court Torpedo Roadster $6,600,000
2. 1958 BMW 507 Series II Roadster $2,420,000
3. 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster $1,842,500
4. 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Series II Cabriolet $1,760,000
5. 1934 Duesenberg Model SJ Convertible Sedan $1,567,500
6. 1965 Shelby 289 Cobra $990,000
7. 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 R $984,500
8. 1928 Bugatti Type 37A Grand Prix $962,500
9. 1937 Bugatti Type 57C Roadster $902,000
10. 1932 Packard Twin Six Individual Custom Convertible Sedan $840,000
The small stuff was not unkind: a Fiat Jolly, Mini Moke, and BMW 600’s isetta brought, respectively, 90.000, 49.500 and 50,000 USD. We find it themselves, however, refreshing that the once not a Ferrari is that the highest yield scores.
