World Car of The Year 2014: finalists revealed

The World Car of The Year competition has its final on 17 april and the finalists are announced.

Last month we got already a list with all nominees and that list is now per category is reduced to three cars. In the first -general – category, the following three finalists left to do:
– Audi A3
– BMW 4 Series
– Mazda3

Remarkably enough, the winner of the Car of The Year competition -the Peugeot 308– not on the list. Seemingly found the international jury (as did we) that the Peugeot is a fine car, but not special enough to have such a coveted sticker on the rear window to paste.

In the category “World Luxury Car” also has three finalists:
– Bentley Flying Spur
– Mercedes Benz S-Class
– Range Rover Sport

In the category of “Green Car”, the following candidates still in the race for a victory:
– Audi A3 Sportback G-Tron
– BMW i3
– Volkswagen XL1

In the category “World Performance Car” is still there to be chosen from the following candidates:
– Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
– Ferrari 458 Special
– Porsche 991 911 GT3

The winner will be announced on april 17, during the New York Auto Show. The last few years was Volkswagen with the prices back home, place your bets, who do you think that this year each category will win?
