Arnhem’s house is the best of Tesla-car park ever

We wrote previously about an old garage that was transformed into magnificent house, now we do it on a home where the reverse is the case. This private house in the city of Arnhem is not only beautiful, it is also a garage.

So I have a clue how the conversation went between Mr. and Mrs. Customer: “honey, I totally agree with your plans for the layout, but I would so like to get my car in the living room parking.” “Are you crazy? And all exhaust gases through the kitchen and living room? I would like to thank!” But darling, just listen, I want this for so long. Now, what if I promise that you will never suffer will have of stench and smoke?” “Ok, you sense, but only on that condition.” And that’s how it started, mr. and mrs. now have not only a beautiful home but also a Tesla Roadster in the living room.

The house, an old carpenter’s workshop, was presented by the Rotterdam-based Studio OxL transformed into a beautiful woonpaleisje. To the project fund, the inhabitants have already been a neighbouring property refurbished and sold again. It was already from the beginning, the intention of the electric Tesla in the living room to park, parking in the old city centre of Arnhem is a scarce resource and, thanks to the electric drivetrain, the Roadster is, according to architect Wouter Oostendorp “a part of the interior,just like a painting, that is.”
