This is the Polestar 3 and it's coming soon

Polestar is gearing up for the release of their third model, aptly named Polestar 3.

How hard can it be to name your cars? The very young Polestar (which is no stranger thanks to Volvo and Geely, however) shows how easy it is. They started with the 1, a coupe. Then came their second model, a liftback/crossover case called 2. Then it's the turn of an SUV. Guess what it's going to be called.

Polestar 3

If you said Polestar 4 or 5 now, you are a little further in the future. They are also coming, but first Polestar wants to focus our attention on the Polestar 3. This will be on the market in 2022 and it will be a crossover or SUV. In any case, a hefty car that stands a bit higher on its legs.

Polestar also shares a global picture of the styling, camouflaged of course. We can still see a few things. We see on the Polestar 3 that it has nice and wide-set wheels and wheel arches to give it a sporty look. Details on the front are also known: these are very similar to the Precept concept. However, the car is still packed, so the rest will have to wait for the unveiling.

Built in the US

Polestar owns a stake in Volvo's US plant in Charleston. That will be the home base for the Polestar 3. It should be one of the most sustainably built cars of all time, at least for Volvo and Polestar. Well-known collaborations should make the car something good, such as computing power by NVIDIA and a collaboration with Luminar, which specializes in LiDAR technology. The Polestar 3 will have a LiDAR scanner in the roof that should make autonomous driving a lot easier. Again something we know from Volvo.

The Polestar 3 is coming next year and will be unveiled shortly. It will only be available with electric powertrains.
