The largest technology conference CES has already been presented a lot of devices on all occasions. But not all of them have received awards for innovation and invitations from the organizers of the exhibition. Robotic sex toy Osé succeeded, however, soon the device has lost its title. According to the founder of a startup Lora DiCarlo, which was released this massager, an invitation to the CES received her in October of last year. Previously experts checked gadget (weirdness number one), approved it, then the Association of consumer technologies USA awarded Osé victory in the category “Robotics and drones” (oddity number two). Sounds like a success story, but it was not so easy.
Two weeks later, the Association withdrew its reward, and the startup was forbidden to participate in CES. The argument was simple: the device is “unethical” and did not follow the rules of the conference. That’s only at CES every year there are various devices associated with sex — from VR-stands with adult movies to sex robots. Needless to say that the majority of these gadgets are focused on a male audience.
