Many scientists are trying to come up with a technique in which the brain could be retained separately from the body. But if we ignore the fantastic sketch Comedy series Futurama, a work of “Professor Dowell’s Head” and questionable experiments from Sergio Canavero, then there are well-founded and proven from a scientific point of view surveys. For example, not so long ago, a group of researchers from Yale University have managed to sustain life in the brain, completely separated from the body.
However, until experiments on humans it has not yet reached, and scientists conducted experiments with swine brain. For the maintenance of life were answered by the system called BrainEx. It pumps artificial blood through all necessary for the existence of brain areas, saturating with oxygen, the absence of which, as we know, the nerve tissue migrates worse than others.
The experiment involved 200 animals, which the brain without a body lived for about 36 hours. Since the separation of the animal brain, in theory, could experience the unbearable pain associated with the physical loss of all organs. In the future, scientists of course, I plan to conduct an experiment and on the man, but for this they need not only to obtain permission from state authorities, but also to solve numerous “ethical issues of this experiment.”
