Adidas launches a fully robotic plant for the production of sneakers

In the second half of October, the company Adidas will start selling sneaker of the series “Adidas Made For” (AM4), made by robots. We know what to buy them can the residents of six cities: London, Paris, Los Angeles, new York, Tokyo and Shanghai. The first two cities will be able to “go shopping” very soon, but the rest of the new clothes will be delivered later — in early 2018.

The first almost fully robotic plant has already been built in Germany. He is ready to run without any problems and will be able to meet the needs of shops the above cities. Lightweight and comfortable running shoes series AM4 was developed specifically for residents of big cities, leading an active lifestyle. Sneakers will be produced taking into account the climate and landscape of each city, so models will vary significantly between them.

The second robot factory Adidas plans to open in Atlanta (USA) — production capacity should be sufficient not just for running shoes one model. The group has long committed itself to the automation of production and previously began producing soles for shoes using 3D printing.
