Dieselgate: Volkswagen recalls 11 million vehicles [updated]

CEO Matthias Müller has a large recall announced for cars with very manipulative software update.

The recall is for the replacement of the fraudulent software will within a few days, customers receive personal message with an invitation in October to the garage. That reports Reuters. The new CEO Matthias Müller has this at a closed meeting with about 1,000 managers of the company reported. The details of the recall have yet to be worked out.

What the consequences are of the new software is not yet completely clear. The update is going to make sure that cars do comply with the NOx requirements in America are exceeded, but whether this has implications for the efficiency and the performance of the TDI’s is not yet clear.

Among the 11 million cars that are being recalled are at least 5 million Volkswagens, and 2.1 million Audi’s, 1.2 million Skoda cars and 1.8 million vans.
