We may be few car brands have here, we grossieren in component manufacturers.

Of course, we have Donkervoort, and the new MINI is here screwed together, but beyond that, make do with our auto industry. You would think. Because our small country happens to be really great when it comes to fabricating parts. In fact, it is a miljardenbusiness, the revenue increased from 2009 to 2014, with 59 percent to 9.2 billion euros. Katsjing! Click on the picture for a large version (via @drivenbyhelmond):

As the above figure can already see, we here, especially, exhausts, body panels, transmissions and even entire engines, and that puts us profitable. The economic bureau of ING has found that the components sector for more than a billion euros more revenue than the Dutch car and truck manufacturers Nedcar and DAF together. There are approximately 30,000 to 35,000 people in approximately 300 companies. If you have the numbers extended to study, I have an interesting article for you, from a year ago.

So, the next time you are in your German/French/Italian/Japanese pastry get, you can set your patriotic heart proud to feel the beat in your chest. Because you can thunder on to say that parts of that car out of our own little country. And that’s pretty fun right?
