There are some changes in the pipeline, which teams will make it easy to during the season more horsepower out of their engines.
The short version
Especially for the reader who does not want to have a long story but wants to be kept informed, we go short. Together with the FIA to have the engine builders in Formula 1 decided that the sources of power in 2016 to the same degree may be developed as of this season the case. Anyway. The system that was used for the developments to monitor, works as follows. Specific parts of the engine got to a certain rating of 1, 2 or 3 tokens. Eventually the FIA to 66 tokens per complete engine. Pistons were, for example, in the category of ‘2 tokens’, and the inflammation had 1 token assigned. In other words: how “important” the component is, the more tokens that a part got. Vague story, but it is now clearer.
In 2015 if engine builders (i.e. Mercedes, Honda, Renault and Ferrari) 32 of such tokens to ‘use’ for the start of the season on their turbo engines to tinker with. Through loopholes in the legislation used teams during the season, however, just the tokens after the start of the season yet. For 2016 gold initially that there are only 25 tokens allowed to be consumed. In addition, certain components are completely excluded from development. Alternative engines…
