Volvo S90 PowerPulse
Volvo is tearing a page from PSA’s book, and use compressed air. In the new S90 D5 introduces the new PowerPulse technology, an alternative to the electric turbo.

With the unveiling of the S90 this week Volvo has a luxeschip at to be proud of, and, of course, is the arrival of the new 4,96 meter-long flagship on the SPA platform as an opportunity for a lot of PR-just a few short moments to tackle.

A novelty is PowerPulse, a system in which there is a small tank of compressed air next to the engine is placed. When the gas is deep, wide is this air through a valve directly to the exhaust manifold is sent, allowing the turbocharger to spin. You have so according to the theory right pressure, without that you on the first uitlaagassen have to wait that the paddle wheel is a pendulum.

PowerPulse will debut in the S90 D5 (235 hp/ 400 Nm). The S90 is not until mid 2016 at the dealer, so until that time, we still needed to hear. How the system works, please view the following video.

The application is a little less invasive than Hybrid Air by PSA which, however, was in the status ‘draft request’ and then in the mouth of manager Maxime Picat very hard huilie did that the evil government they have no sub-si-hie-hie-that provides. Than Volvo, that takes at least.
