Wanderer W11/1
The 40-45-equivalent of the Mercedes G 300D: this Wanderer W11/1. Not that the car is there something you could do, but the achterbankbewoners were almost without exception war criminals. This Wanderer transported one of the biggest crooks out of the Second world War.

Just to refresh: Heinrich Himler is one of the right hands of Hitler and as the leader of the SS responsible for the execution of the holocaust. He is seen as one of the greatest war criminals from the Second world War. With some regularity he visited several death camps in Poland, and before that he used this mode of transport.

It is a Wanderer W11/1, a model that, in 1928, for the first time on the market appeared with a 2.5-litre six-in-line. In 1933, for the Wehrmacht the W11/1 was developed, with the 3-litre engine from the Wanderer W14. It is the light ‘off road vehicle’ of choice of the German army and given an internal name that we now mostly associate with a VW: Kübelwagen.

After the war ended, the Wanderer in a museum in Riga, now the capital of Latvia. Until 1991, however, part of the Soviet Union and with the collapse of the communist state, there will also be an end to the museum. The Wanderer goes back to Western Europe, probably to a private collector.

Remains of course the question: who wants to be in hell such a car in their possession? Very few people it seems, the car is already a year and a half with any regularity offered for sale by the company of Fantastic Fahrzeuge. Again and again for a half a million euros, so the owner is confident that amount ever to be able to capture for this piece of inky history. Who knows, maybe he can at this Russian billionaire try?

And by the way, the Sbarro converted Rolls Royce that we in 2010(!) all over were also still on sale at one and the same company. They seem to have specialized in exceptional cars that no one wants to have.
