Samsung registered trademark Samsung Infinity-V in the category of displays for smartphones. The company now uses the screens under the brand Infinity edge-to-edge smartphones.

Experts have suggested that the screens Infinity-V must be used in a folding smartphone, whose announcement is expected very soon.
According to earlier leaks, closed the user can have 4 inches display, which is enough to perform basic functions, such as mail and messaging, without opening the smartphone. Internal tests of the joint showed that it can withstand more than 200 thousand cycles of opening and closing.
The fingerprint scanner was not able to build under such a display due to technical difficulties. The prototype weighs more than 200 grams because of the larger display than any other smartphone on the market. For weight reducing the manufacturer had to cut the battery capacity. Samsung and Google are working together to develop a special version of Android for foldable smartphone.
The first demonstration of a foldable smartphone is expected at the developers conference Samsung Developer Conference on 7 November. The release of the smartphone is not expected until the second quarter of 2019.
