Flagship Snapdragon processor 8150 structurally repeats China’s Huawei Kirin

Roland Quandt (Quandt Roland), editor of the well-known regular leaks of the German resource WinFuture, through your Twitter account has shared new details about the Snapdragon flagship 8150, which has not yet been officially presented by Qualcomm.

We will note, earlier Snapdragon 8150 was rumored under the name Snapdragon 855. However, recently it became known that Qualcomm’s next flagship will be called Snapdragon 8150, not Snapdragon 855, as expected.

According to Quandt, the 8150 will get the Snapdragon architecture, similar to the new 7-nanometer Kirin 980 from Huawei. The chip includes three computing cluster. One cluster consists of four core codename Silver with average productivity, the second and third under two kernels with the code names Gold, and Gold+ improved performance.

According to preliminary data, they will be Cortex-A-55 and A-76. The first, codenamed Silver, will run at a frequency of 1.7 GHz, and the second, codenamed Gold at 2.6 GHz. Kirin 980 was the first processor with cores Cortex-A76 and graphics Mali-G76.

Quandt also reported that the official debut of the Snapdragon 8150 will be held at the press event Qualcomm in Hawaii in December 2018.
