Russia and China will jointly explore the moon and deep space

Roscosmos and the Chinese national space administration (CNCA) signed an agreement in which both parties intend to work together on space research. The Russian space Agency reported that the documents were signed by representatives of the parties at the international forum on space exploration, which took place in the capital of Japan.

The document States that the partners will cooperate in the Russian project to launch orbital spacecraft “Luna-Resource-1”, the start of which is scheduled for 2022, and a year later will begin the joint implementation of the Chinese mission in which you plan to land the Rover in the South polar region of the moon, writes RIA Novosti.

Two missions, the cooperation is not limited. Russia and China have agreed to establish a joint data Centre for Lunny projects and deep space, which will bring together experts from both countries.

In December last year entered into force the agreement on measures on protection of technologies in connection with cooperation on space exploration and the creation of launch vehicles and ground space infrastructure.

In addition, in November, “Roscosmos” and CNCA signed the program of cooperation in outer space in the year 2018-2022. It includes six sections: the study of the moon and deep space, space science and related technology, satellites and their application, components and materials, cooperation in remote sensing and monitoring of space debris.
