The system was created on the initiative of the communications Ministry and the Central Bank, and recently was presented its first version. The development of a common biometric system of person identification by voice and photo is “Rostelecom” and in June 2018, is planning its launch, reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to the Vice-President for development of the company Alexander Aivazova.
The press service of “Rostelecom” reported that currently the system is tested for more than twenty Russian banks. It is planned to use the system in the financial sector, healthcare, education, retail, e-commerce, to receive state and municipal services.
In the future, any Bank having the right to register individuals in the ESIA and EAS will be able to conduct registration and identification of the client in the ESIA, after which it will take samples of voice and will make images of the person and send them to EBS. The link between the systems will go by a unique number. After the data is received and processed, the client will interact with banks and other organizations remotely, without visiting their offices.
