Richard Branson: Hyperloop will appear in India after seven years

The head of the Board of Directors of a startup Hyperloop One Virgin Richard Branson discussed with the Indian authorities the prospects of a new transport system and entered into a preliminary agreement on the construction of the test section in the next two to three years. According to Branson, a full-fledged branch Hyperloop will be built by 2025.

Richard Branson and Prime Minister Narendra modi had signed a preliminary agreement on the establishment of the interchange Hyperloop in Maharashtra, which will connect the airport to the city of Mumbai, the largest Indian city, Pune.

The road from Pune to Mumbai airport takes about four hours by car. One Virgin Hyperloop plans to cut travel time to just 25 minutes, promising to annually transport up to 150 million passengers and hundreds of tons of cargo. According to experts of the company, this line Hyperloop will bring India a serious income. Over 30 years of operation, the budget will be replenished by new transport systems to $ 55 billion, and will help to significantly reduce the emission of harmful gases into the atmosphere.

In December of last year, Hyperloop developers Virgin One able to disperse the test passenger capsule up to 387 kilometers per hour inside of the pipe with a pressure of 0.0002 atmosphere. At the moment the development of the transport system is continuing.
