In Stavropol scientific research Institute of sheep breeding and goat breeding has created its own operating system called Ivan OC. About it told the local resource Don24.ru citing Denis Belov, head of the laboratory of information technologies Institute.
According to Belova, for the creation of OS programmers took mainly because of the strategy of import substitution. The basis of Ivan OC lies Linux. The development took five years and 40 million rubles, took care of her team of seven people. Now it is installed on almost all PCs of the Institute.
In the near future it is planned the official presentation of the OS. As planned, Ivan OC will provide free of charge, but to charge ha technical support.
In comments to be published on Don24.ru Denis Belov explained that Ivan OC is only one component of a technological platform. He also notes that in addition to VNIIK, the main holders of this platform have become “Cloud-based information systems” and “standard”.
